World’s 1st GSM DBN

OliveLit’s experts were part of the team that was responsible for the cellular network planning and optimization of one of the world’s first GSM 900/1800 Dual Band Networks (DBNs). Zurich based Swiss operator DiAX (subsequently Sunrise) set up the one of the world’s first dual band GSM networks in Switzerland in 1998. Our experts, while working for the turnkey provider Nokia Networks, were responsible for the frequency, radio and capacity planning, site selection and optimization of its network in and around the entire country of Switzerland. Also included were the border areas, covering the spills to and from Italy, Germany and France, thereby successfully managing complex frequency planning and interference issues.
